Week 4: Easier Setup + Smoother Logging

Cash Captain got easier to start with, easier to read, and a little smarter when you're logging transfers.

377 users by the end of Week 4! This week was mostly about smoothing out the rough edges. New users get clearer setup choices, the homepage got a fresh coat of paint, transaction history is easier to scan, and Quick Entry is less likely to misunderstand you when account names overlap. Very much a 'make the app feel less annoying' week.

Improved

Quick Entry understands transfers better

When you type a transfer, Cash Captain is better at guessing the right accounts — especially if you have similarly named accounts like Cash and GCash.

Improved

Transaction history is easier to scan

Older transactions now show clear dates like Wed, Apr 15 instead of vague labels like 3 days ago. Because after a while, every week becomes 'last week-ish.'

New

A fresher homepage

The public Cash Captain site got a big visual refresh so it does a better job explaining what the app is and why it exists.

Fixed

More emojis work as account icons

Some fancy emojis were getting rejected as account icons. Flags, skin tones, family emojis, and other emoji chaos should behave better now.

Improved

Better starting templates

New users can now choose between a Simple setup and a more Detailed setup instead of being pushed into the old 50/30/20 template.

New

No more stale app tabs

If Cash Captain updates while you still have it open, the app can now nudge you to refresh so you're not stuck on an old version.
