Week 1: Launch Day

Cash Captain is live. A keyboard-first personal finance tracker for people who think faster than they click.

Finally joined the "built my own finance tracker" club. I validated this problem months ago, ran user interviews, and then promptly procrastinated. But at some point you just have to ship. So here it is. An intentional finance tracker that's multi-currency native, keyboard-first, and built for couples and roommates who share expenses. Fair warning: it was NOT mobile friendly at launch. That came later.

New

Quick entry with natural language

Type your expenses the way you think. "4.50 coffee" or "120 groceries yesterday." Amount, description, optional date. No dropdowns, no forms. Just type and hit enter.

New

Workspace collaboration

Share a workspace with your partner or roommates. Invite links, member roles, and every transaction shows who logged it.

New

Smart categories

Comes with sensible default categories out of the box. Create your own, archive ones you don't use. Transactions get auto-categorized based on your history.

New

Analytics dashboard

Income vs. expenses, category breakdowns, daily spending, top merchants, and more. Multiple chart types so you can look at your money from different angles.

New

Keyboard-first navigation

Global hotkeys, a shortcut overlay, and a command palette. You can do everything without touching your mouse.

New

Calendar view

Your transactions on a calendar. Good for spotting patterns and finding days where you forgot to log something.

New

Dashboard

Net worth sparkline, monthly summary, recent transactions, and a getting-started checklist. Everything you need at a glance when you open the app.
